Beginner Lessons
If you’ve always wanted to learn Mahjong but didn’t know where to start, this series is for you. Over three weeks, you’ll move from complete beginner to confident player — understanding the basic rules of American Mahjong, learning how to read the National Mahjong League card, and feeling comfortable sitting down to play independently.
Three 2-hour sessions, held one week apart. A thoughtfully paced series designed specifically for absolute beginners.
Gameplay begins in the first session. No prior experience needed.
Small-group instruction (maximum 8 students). Plenty of individualized attention, questions encouraged.
Private, comfortable home setting. Relaxed, welcoming, and ideal for learning something new.
National Mahjong League card included. Your current NMJL card is provided as part of the class fee and used throughout the series.
Loaner tiles available during class. No need to purchase a set before attending.
Resource materials for post-class reference. Helpful guides so you can review and build confidence between sessions.
Continued instructor access after the series.
